Special Guest: Dr. Deborah Gray

For July's 19th Hole Conversation, we will have the insightful Dr. Deborah Gray. Dr Gray is a huge advocate for getting more women on the golf course. If you follow us on Instagram, you know we did a whole spotlight on the Wall Street Journal article, “Why More Female Executives Don’t Play Golf- and Why That’s a Problem?” Dr. Gray was featured for this article given her years of study and research on the topic of golf + business.

Dr. Gray is a professor at Central Michigan University where she created a Scotland-based study abroad course titled "Selling on the Green.” She immerses students in a 2-week long “business trip” to Edinburgh, Scotland. Students come away with understanding how to plan company outings, talk to potential clients on the course, and develop a sales pitch to present at the end of a round of golf.

She is personable, invested, and wants to help other women succeed. In this conversation we will deep dive into the WSJ article and her study on 1) the benefits of golf for women in business, 2) the effects of not golfing, and 3) the reasons why women don’t golf. If you are looking for tips to stand out at work or on the golf course, understand why golf is so important- this is the conversation for you.
